Local Lawmakers to Honor Vietnam War Era Veterans

WHAT: Reps. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th) and Bernie O’Neill (R-Bucks/29th), together with Sen. Chuck McIlhinney, will hold a Vietnam Veterans’ Commemorative Ceremony to recognize and honor the Vietnam War Era Veterans of the 10th Senatorial District for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the United States. The program is part of the commemoration the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

WHO: Watson, O’Neill and McIlhinney, along with nearly 150 Vietnam War Era veterans. The veterans served on active duty in the United States Armed Forces at any time during the period of Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of station location. Keynote speaker will be David A. Christian of Levittown, a highly decorated U.S. Army officer who served during the Vietnam War, among his many accomplishments. The program will also include the Liberty Young Marines, Chalfont VFW chaplain, Central Bucks South Chorus, Gunnery Sgt. Luke Silwinski, Brenda Hecklin from A Hero’s Welcome and the Veterans Association of Military Musicians.

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 10. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., along with musical entertainment and a slide show. The program will begin at 7 p.m.
